Alcocer is a small village in Guadalajara with a population of about 300 inhabitants in winter. In summer, there might be more than 1000 of them. It could be said that is a forsaken village, because before the nineteenth century it was a bigger town. But currently, it is a picturesque and a nice place to spend a peaceful time.
Although there aren’t many facilities, there is a little charming Hotel and a famous Restaurant well known by many people from other towns, because the quaint waiters and the chef are always very friendly and the food plentiful.
But the most interesting place is the Church. It is well worth a visit, because in Guadalajara it is called The Cathedral. It is built in the Romanesque and the Gothic styles, and its steeple is visible from quite a distance.
Also you can visit the famous Roman ruins of Ercávica, crossing Entrepeñas Reservoir across the new bridge. It's a 10-kilometer journey to get to the ruins, which lie on a hilly area, and here you will enjoy History.
